Really now, they could have at least switched the order of the letters...then it could be OUR place. David & Val!!!
I don't know, I hear it's pretty good.
Order the crab salad.
One place in the States that I can't understand the appeal of is the Cheesecake Factory. Why anyone would want to patronize a restaurant that's equating its food to mass produced assembly line crap is beyond me, but maybe I don't understand because I'm not that crazy about cheesecake in the first place.
Mmm... the many flavors of venereal disease. You would've thought they'd think or something more appetizing.
I burst out laughing when I saw this, it may be that if a French person saw a restaurant named M&V in the US, they'd have the same reaction. ;)
I have a burning desire to go there.
There used to be a Chinese restaurant by my parents house called South Wind, the source of endless amusement to my 7-year old, and hell, who are we kidding, current self.
the picture made me giggle.
Matt's comment got a laugh. :)
I've read interesting things about this restaurant. I'm itching to try it.
If that restaurant was in Chinatown, it would be called "Number One VD" or "VD A-OK!" or "VD 2000."
(I'm Chinese so perhaps I get a pass at making fun of own my race?)
FUNNY...especially Kevin's "burning desire" to go there. :0)
There used to be a mom-and-pop restaurant in my hometown called "Ralph's." It didn't last long.
And I never understood the naming of that now closed cafeteria-style restaurant Furr's.
Anything furry would make me ralph, for sure.
VD...the gift that keeps on giving.
Mmm, cheeeeeesy.
And they play this song in the lobby:
would you please explain what is VD for your non native english speakers ? :)
I understand from the comments that this is some kind of disease, but thats all.
krysalia,
VD stands for venereal disease, i.e. sexually transmitted diseases.
How proud I am that this ends up being my first comment.
try the hot dog..............;)
ah, the other comments beat me to both an "itching" and a burning reference.
Darn.
Maybe the name STD was already taken?
Oh that is precious.
Elizabeth> oh thanks ! i see perfectly then :)
Do you thinnk it has a shot of being good?
Well, thanks to you guys, I no longer having a burning desires to go there...
Well David, you would be wrong to let these shameful jokes deter you and sully this establishment's good name. In fact i hear it's a pretty good seafood restaurant and the clams there leave quite an impression !
Sorry, couldnt resist.
