Today I learned something.

I learned how to check the statistics on this site.

I can learn what other sites lead people here, and how many people visit here each day.

I can also see what keywords people are using to find the site.

You would think it might be something like, say, ‘Chocolate‘ or ‘Paris‘.

Or perhaps it’d be something broader, like ‘Recipe‘ or ‘Baking‘.

But you know what?

The Number #1, Top Search Words that are used to find this site are…

‘Tucker Carlson’

So for all you fans looking for Tucker Carlson…welcome!

…to both of you.

thank god david didn’t list “foot shave” and “sugar stomach depilatory”… god I’d be so embarrassssssed. Oops is this thing on?

Absolutely hilarious! I’d think “fleur de sel,” “les soldes,” or “handsome shop boys,” would work too. :-D

    • eqj (the chocolate lady)

Hmmm, well I understand Metternich was interested in chocolate cakes. Maybe there’s some connection.
My top search word is “coogle.”

I have no idea how I got here originally, but I’m pretty sure I’ve never searched for Tucker Carlson in my life! Even without Tucker, I’ve been enjoying reading your site. :)

oh no now why is it that I am driven to google Tucker Carlson……….

One of the top phrases that lead people to my blog … “Croc vs Shark.”

Thanks for the linky love last week!

Those stats counters can be addictive. But I love your site (and keep returning to it) for the food content.

You have got to be kidding…what is the connection? Je ne comprends pas.
Stats can be lots of fun!

    That’s just strange.

    David:

How can I email you directly – I have been reading your blog for over a year (entrancing, endearing and makes me hungry and jealous most days) and am visiting France (Again) first week of October – as far as I know, your October schedule is clean – would you hang with the wives one day while the guys are in surgery?

Gee Whizz! Tucker Carlson, eh? (Who he?) I got here by following MATT’s trail – is that sort of “stalking”? Nah! Hi ya MATT! Understand me better, yet? What’s a “sugar stomach depilatory”? Sounds exciting……!

    • Alphonse the Noble

Well! I put “tucker carlson” into Google and got de nada/nix/bupkiss about you, dear David! I guess I shoulda done that afore telling you about my crush on MATT. Darn it. I guess I have gone bush (note lower case “b”) on my island. BUT, did you know that Tucker Carlson has four children and was born in 1969? The children are: Lillie, Buckley, Hopie, and Dorothy. Just Love your blog, David.

I am consistently laughing at the search terms people use to find my website. There are an inordinate number of “free girl” searches, all from the Middle East. (What are they hoping to find?) There are also a huge number of “how to eat out a girl,” because I made the mistake of using the phrase “eat out” to describe going to a restaurant. Once. I can only think those poor souls are very disappointed to find themselves reading Gluten-Free Girl.

Still, I’ve never had any Tucker Carlson hits. Bravo, sir.

Since I write about being gay and about chefs and people who write about food, I gets lots of people who are searching to see if they can figure out what food world celebrities are gay.

You probably don’t get Dancing with the Stars in Paris. Tucker Carlson was on for the first week ( er, this week only). Aside from his being a lousy neocon, he also can’t dance. But his losing the bow tie made him a lot less annoying. Why did you bother to mention him in the first place?

You can imagine, with a blog about farms, that I get a lot of visitors looking for…well, you can guess.

When will people learn that it’s not “beastiality,” anyway?

    : D

    • Jack

    That IS pretty funny!

But, I bet they don’t stay very long (i.e, 0 sec), esp. compared to those who typed Chocolate and Paris (4 hours!).
