One of my favourite ebay bargains was a print copy of this for a similar price. Great to add to my Lebovitz library.

The offer works for Canadians as well, just FYI :)

I purchased the book and the recipes look very tempting. My only disappointment is that most of the recipes don’t have a picture to show the final result, which in my case, is the number one incentive to try a recipe.

I don’t have a Samsung device but if there is a Kindle app for it, you can download that and get it through Kindle/Amazon. There are also books via Google; check out the links for those in the post and see if one works for you.

Saw it and jumped on it. Just finished reading your “Sweet Life in Paris” – I couldn’t stop laughing (especially when I remembered my American husband and his first shocked encounter with a public bathroom in a big city in Germany).

I let maybe ten seconds elapse between seeing the title of the post and downloading the book, which has been on my “to buy” list for months. Thank you!

    dear david,
as a far away but devoted longtime follower I would like to thank you for your wonderful recipes and insights into french culture. which sometimes makes me homesick having lived in southern france for 3 decades. but at least one can cook french wherever one lives thanks to your books.
un grand merci de la part de gabrielle

I was actually looking for a vanilla ice cream recipe on your site when I saw this offer. What a treat. I just clicked on Google Books and got it as a free sample? It’s now sitting on my computer. And I don’t live in the US.

lucky you, Helle, I can see the book in google books, but no price (so no purchase) and no free sample!

I’m prepared to pay, but none of those listed will sell outside NA (so UK no chance). And I’ve not the time to explore those methods to hide where you are at present.

I’ll just have to pay the full price ;-(

While I already own a copy of this, how could I resist having a convenient copy on laptops and to have on hand when I travel without adding to carryon? Irresistible. And a bargain at any price!

I hope the recent chocolate tour went well. (Silly me! How could it not?)

David, I was so disappointed that I was unable to buy your e-book at the sale price! Australia wins first prize at blocking overseas sites! Very frustrating!!

David, I second handel’s comment. I did try tunnel bear, with success, but as soon as I put in payment details, the fact that my cards are UK based – and my paypal account – the attempt was halted. Google, B&N etc were tried. It would look as if I cannot buy the digital version at full price, let alone the sale.
Frustraiting and a great shame, as I really enjoy the blog, but I already have rather too many physical books!

I did wonder about trying Elwood Blue’s trick for his driving licence renewal – “1060 W Addison”.

Shandel and David: It’s a rights issue. And as someone who lives outside the U.S., I know the frustration of how many things there are that aren’t available outside of the United States. (On the upside, airline tickets are often less-expensive for non-U.S based airlines if purchased from outside of the United States.)

Overseas publishers which own the rights decide how the books are sold outside of the U.S. and at what price. People use the VPNs for things like Netflix, but I guess they don’t work everywhere, although I thought I would mention them.

We watched Netflex with a VPN for some weeks, but then one day we were accosted with a rude message on the screen, and there was some talk about criminal charges being laid, as we were effectively ‘stealing’ time from Netflex. It sure isn’t easy living at the bottom of the world!

Argh. Didn’t get to it in time. No matter. I prefer cookbooks on paper, especially when they’re the same price as digital.
