If you’re in Rome, your welcome to come by and say, and enjoy a glass of wine and a few treats, at a book event and meet-up on Saturday, June 5th.

From 6 to 8pm I’ll be in the courtyard of the Palazzo Santa Croce, vicolo De’ Catinari, 3 (map) and if you’d like to get a copy of my latest book, Ready for Dessert, they’ll have copies on hand for signing.

Dear David, I’ve been reading your blog for a while but this is my first comment… I felt I had to tell you what my first reaction was: “Oh no, I can’t believe this… my favourite food blogger comes to Italy and I can’t go… and I was in Rome last weekend!”
It’s truly great you’re coming to Italy but you should have let us know in advance! Well, I’ll try to cheer myself up with one of your recipes… hope you have a good time in Rome! BTW, is it the only signing you’ll be doing in Italy?

Too bad it is not Rome, Georgia. Rats. Wish I could be there!

David can’t wait to check out your latest endeavor in satisfying the sweet tooth in all of us. I just picked up Room for Dessert and have pored over the recipes, not sure which one to make on this cold, rainy Seattle morning, but I’m leaning on Butternut Squash Pie, since the weather seems more atuned to Thanksgiving than the promise of summer. Thanks for sharing the sweet life.

I am so disappointed we are going to be in Rome, but not until June 17th!

I’ll be there! See you on sat!

    PS: lovely location you chose!!

I just had the ginger cake from Ready for Dessert and oh my god. It was perfect in every possible way. Except I didn’t make it. I gave my copy of your book to my cousin as a Thank You present (she is a far better baker than I am) and have regretted it ever since. Perhaps today I will buy another copy.

Lucky Rome to have you there….it was so much fun meeting you at your book signing in Paris! Have a great time in Italy!!

Deanna….I just made David’s Ginger Cake and yes, it is perfect in every way, and easy to make. The suggestion to serve it with Lemon Curd Whipped Cream is just brilliant!

Rome is great, but can you please have a booksigning and get-together in Torino please!!!

    • David

Candela & Italian Postards: I was invited to Rome to do the signing & lead a few tours, so if you know anyone in your cities that would like me to come, that’d be super!

I love Torino (a lot!) and Tuscany, too.

Sorry I won’t be in Rome but I am sure it will have been a great success. I have just finished, ‘The Sweet Life in Paris’ and loved it. Congratulations David it is a great read, xv.

    Hi David,

Do you have any other booksignings in Paris after you get back from Rome? Would love to pick up your new book & have it signed by you!

    • David

I just had two events in Paris recently. But yes, I have a signing in September at La Cocotte. Details, and other events, are on my Schedule page.

    • Grapefruit

Oh darn, I did check out your schedule page right after writing my last comment and saw that you have events coming up in Sept.
I’m going to be in Paris this week and was hoping to find you at a book signing then! Tant pis, maybe I will have better luck next time!

    David,
I just read your answer. I wish I would find a place for you… I’m near Firenze, Lucca, Pisa, in Livorno, is a little city by the sea, I really don’t have the right connections, maybe in Lucca, in front of the Duomo, a really nice place, a mix between enoteca, really godd coffes, painting exhibition… I can talk with the owner, but How is it work ? :/ I’ m confused… Sorry for my English …
I’m sure your friends in Italy can help more than me :( It make me sad that I can help you.
I could write to “Cavoleletto di Bruxelles” an important foodblogger and ask her for some help , she wrote a book too and made booksigning all around Italy and Bruxelles…She made a very nice presentation in Firenze where I met her.
David I don’t know how to help, but I really want to help you, tell me how, and I do it with all my pleasure.
    Wish you the best. Candela

    David,
Sorry for the tardy comment. It was very nice to meet you at the signing in Rome and I am sorry I couldn’t stay to talk longer. Elizabeth introduced me to you as a passionate pastry chef (it’s not my day job unfortunately). You say in your book that you don’t really like complicated desserts, I do, I look at them as a challenge (maybe because I not a professional), but your book was absolutely inspirational! I have already earmarked several recipes for my next dessert party. I’ve only read your blog now and then, but I intend to become a “regular”. Thanks for the wonderful book!
