Did you know that this Friday is the closing day for Menu For Hope IV?
So far, we’ve just about rounded passed the $30,000 mark!

KitchenAid Artisan Series Mixer

I know many of you are angling for the deluxe KitchenAid Artisan Series Mixer, ice cream-making attachment, and copy of The Perfect Scoop that I will personally deface for you with my John Hancock (EU17), which I’ll spell a little differently.

But did you know that over at Bon Appegeek, Annie’s offering a spiffy Cuisinart Ice Cream maker along with a copy of my book as well?

And if that’s not enough—and I know you know that it is…

…in a spasm of silly generosity, I’ve tossed in ice cream at Berthillon in Paris. Yes, you read that right: the winner and a friend gets treated to ice cream right here in Paris by yours truly as part of prize UC04.

So if you’re planning to come to Paris during the next year, you can rendez-vous with me for a cornet de glâce Berthillon. Luckily for me, you can only get a maximum of 3 scoops per cone—but I know you wouldn’t want to take advantage of my altruism, now would you?

That’s prize code UC04 and you can bid on both of the prizes at First Giving, where I’ve been bidding on some prizes myself.

(Although I’m not telling anyone what I bid on since I want to be a winner. And don’t worry; I’m not going to bid on taking myself out for ice cream. That’d be just dumb.)

You can check out the long list of utterly fabulous prizes—like how’s about lunch with food writer Harold McGee (UW11)?

Or a delicious culinary tour of Barcelona and tapas (EU37) or a down-home, Texan-made care package (UE03)? Maybe a slab of Kevin’s handmade pancetta (UC14), a Theo chocolate orgy (UW25), or some tasty Wagyu beef (UC02, UC03) for ya?

I wouldn’t mind a studly All-Clad 6qt pan (UC07) in my kitchen either or why not a date with your pick of my fish-boys (ILIE2BAD4U)?

And for the molecular gastronomists out there, although the Polyscience Thermal Circulator (UC25), which won’t fit in my kitchen, it would probably be a boon in yours and you can sous vide your breakfast and be the envy of all on the subway when you snip open that package of pressure-cooked sausage, grits, and eggs.

So get thee to the Pimster for a list of all prizes and links.

What are you waiting for?

Please Note: The Menu For Hope IV auction for 2007 is now closed for bids.

The winners will be announced on January 9, 2008. Please check back at the site to find out if you’re the lucky winner.

Thanks to all who donated and bid!
