Spending a day and a half flying somewhere is easily mitigated by any activity involving drinks a few feet from the crystal-blue Caribbean with friends.

And what better way to while away a lazy afternoon with a little food blogger bocce?

I made a fierce team with Matt and Romain, as we battled Deb and husband Alex, along with Elise, who wowed us with her fiery locks.

deb

Elise rallied, Matt rocked, and Deb rolled with the punches. Romain kept score in the sand, which wasn’t very effective as the warm breeze (and wandering sandals) kept leveling the score.

Who won? Who cares.

It was all about having fun, making us all winners.

And the icy rewards were well-deserved.

And here I was thinking it was just a coincidence that so many of my favorite bloggers were on vacation this week. Have fun and remember: Sunscreen is your friend.

    • Just Cook It

    Sounds fantastic.

Those are some rockin’ tats on your friend. I am so jealous of you all! I couldn’t imagine anything better than being on the beach in the Bahamas until I saw all my favorite food bloggers on the beach in the Bahamas. Have a great time in solidarity with all of those out here who are looking on and sobbing just a little!

Looks like great fun is being had by all! Enjoy your vacation.

How cool to see other bloggers!

I have always wondered what Deb and Elise looked like!

Oh, my, all my favorite food bloggers together . . . at Club Med?! Unbelievable. And aren’t you the best for continuing to post? Otherwise I would be reading through your archives (again!) to get my fix. Happy fabulous vacation to you all!

What fun David ! You are making me want all three – sun, blue skies & the sand !!! Enjoy! :)

You busy bloggers deserve a great vacation for all the time you put in online for your fans. How fun that you can enjoy each others company to boot. Thanks for sharing some pic’s with us.

    Those photos are fantastic.

Looks fantastic — especially the rosé. What was it? We spend the summer scouring the shops and local wineries for the year’s best rosé and then enjoy the warm nights outside sipping and dreaming it will never end. It’s definitely part of what gets us through the long, wet, Oregon winters!

The trail mix was a give away, train trip indeed! Matt gave it away with the skivvies,(spell check skiv…whatever!)
Looks like fun, sorry I’m working the line for lunch and dinner, but will be thinking of you….hmmmmph

Fun in the sun with foodie pals? Sounds like heaven to me!

It’s the food blogger brain trust, all together at once (I’m thinking shades of Bohemian Grove…).

If a freak hurricane wipes out Club Med, we’re sunk!

Have fun, stay safe (for all our sakes), and don’t get into *too* much trouble:-)

    • The Duo Dishes

Lucky you guys. What a treat this trip must be!

What cool tattoos! I love that giant hibiscus flour…gorgeous! I so envy you in the warm weather with frosty drinks…all I’ve got in New York at the moment is frost…on my fingertips.

Today was so surreal to read your post! I made your and smittenkitchen blogs part of my homepages, and it is so funny that all of you guys are spending your vacation together. Amusez vous bien …

I’m laughing like hell. What a coincidence that you, Matt, Elise and Deb all mention, hint or talk about a vacation. And, that “train” ride to the Caribbean must have been a dampening experience.

    Have a blast.

It was 0 degrees wind chill last night and didn’t make it up to 32 today. (Just to increase your appreciation of warm sun and sand.)

We are spoiled brats; we don’t even allow our beloved blog gods to rest. (Shame on us!) Thank goodness you are good parents and are keeping watch over your restless natives. We may tear up the furniture, burn down the barn, and find the car keys before you return home. But why worry? You have the beach, the sand, and those wonderful friendships.

Oops gotta go…I smell AND see fire from the kitchen.

    GOTCHA!
    ;)

It’s March. It’s bone chilling cold (-27C or -11F with the wind chill). Your pictures have brought the hope of spring. Keep them coming…
Enjoy the warmth of the sun, but do not forget the sun block.
Thanks from the great white north.

    • David

    Stacey: Elise is so photogenic!

Deb is too, but she moves so fast, it’s hard to get a shot! : )

    • Broderick

I’m loving the blinding sun in those photos, have a great time!

    • Abigail

Um .. waiting to see some pictures of the famous camo thong in action here … :)

    • Ann V

OMG – you and Matt know each other??? How very cool. I’ve been enjoying your blogs for quite a while now. Now I’ll have to catch up with your other food blogger friends. What a life you have! Thanks for sharing it all with us.

I confess to being a virgin blog reader. I stumbled into this consuming pastime due to the nature of my work, having just launched a website about all things Parisian. I’ve been making the acquaintance (via email) of really nice folks, but the nicest and most generous-hearted and most congenial of all, are you people. I mean the people who eat and write about eating, and then eat some more so we can all read about what you enjoyed eating. I’m loving it….beth@paris-insider.com
