Welcome to the Menu for Hope V auction!

Last year, we raised over $92,000 for the UN World Food Programme. This year, I’m featuring a very special prize: the lucky winner will be churning out ice cream all year round with this fabulous, professional-style Cuisinart ICE-50 Ice Cream Maker!

ice50bc_hero

This heavy-duty, stainless-steel machine will have you lapping up all sorts of ice creams, sorbets, and sherbets with just the flip of a switch.

Donated by Cuisinart USA, this machine is self-refrigerating and ready when you are. No need to pre-freeze canisters—just pour your mixture in, and soon you’ll be scooping out all of your favorite flavors.

And should you need inspiration, you’ll also receive a copy of The Perfect Scoop, courtesy of Ten Speed Press.

With hundreds of recipes for all sorts of frozen desserts and their accompaniments, like luscious chocolate and caramel sauces, as well as recipes for maple-laced pecans and homemade thin mints to mix in, you’ll find the book the perfect accompaniment for your brand-new ice cream machine.

So what are you waiting for?
Go bid now!

Last year donations went to support a school lunch program in Lesotho, and this years auction will, once again, support the same program. Stories about the children and farmers will be posted on Chez Pim. Bidding on prizes is a small way for all of us to make a big difference.

Let’s take it over the top this year.

To bid, go to First Giving site and bid on prize UW05.

Please Note—Read Before Bidding!

  • Cuisinart USA is only able to ship the machine to the continental United States. If you live outside those 48 states, if you bid on the machine, you do so with the knowledge that it can only be shipped to an address within those states.

(If anyone would like to discuss things in America that aren’t available in Europe, the line starts behind me.)

  • To see other prizes from the West Coast contingent of Menu for Hope V, visit Matt Bites.

  • To see prizes from the European contingent, visit Ms. Adventures in Italy.

  • For specs on the Cuisinart ICE-50, visit the Cuisinart web site.

How can you donate and bid?

    1. Go to the donation site at First Giving to bid and make a donation.

    2. Each $10 you donate will give you one raffle ticket toward a prize of your choice. Please specify which prize you’d like in the ‘Personal Message’ section in the donation form when confirming your donation. You must write-in how many tickets per prize, and please use the prize code.

    This prize is UW05.

For example, a donation of $50 for 5 chances (total) can be 4 tickets for UW05 (this prize) and 1 tickets for UW00 (another prize), please write 4xUW05 and 1xUW00.

If you’d like to bid only on this prize with three bids, with a $30 donation, simply write 3xUW05.

    3. If your company matches your charity donation, please check the box and fill in the information so we could claim the corporate match.

    4. Please allow us to see your email address so that we could contact you in case you win. Your email address will not be shared with anyone.

This is a great prize! I’m sad you’re not on my list, but hopefully you’ll be one of my bidders, hehe.

Did I miss something? I look at your blog daily and I have not seen anything about a new book coming out. I was on Amazon and they recommended your new book to pre-order for a release date of May 5. Congratulations!! I of course pre-ordered the book. Can’t wait to read it.

I am sooooo bummed! I’m in South East Asia… so, join the club. And here I was raring to bid on it! I don’t suppose any friend of mine would become an ex-friend if I ask them to carry it back for me, right?
