    • I just started too! You are right… it is fun!! Look forward to reading your twits.

    • david said ” doesn’t that thing itch like crazy?-”

probably not, this is cotton thread with stretch ability, quite as soft as regular synthetic thongs :D. But it would be fun to make one with angora yarn, maybe i’ll try one day (while i write this, my man that was reading over my shoulder said YIKKES :D – what’s your problem with being adventurous, guys ? )

    • david said: “grammatical quagmire du jour–Is it “none of the chocolates are…” or “none of the chocolates is”

if this is the same than in french, this is ” none of the chocolate is” : if there’s none, there’s not several ones.

    • krysalia: My sense of adventure stops above the belt! : )

(…and my editor agrees with you, and the French, but some English manuals say either is correct.)

    • Ok, the Pork Mole looking like dog food rolled me! I don’t know why but I couldn’t stop laughing! :-)
You rock! Have a great day!

    • I just realized something as I wrote our local bookstore to ask to have you come here to Wichita, Kansas on your next tour. Signing and Singing are nearly the same word, so you may be asked to sing instead of Sign…. :-)

    • it’s crazy addicting, right?
      can’t….stop…..twittering………

    • So does that mean that “none of the chocolates is” is correct? That just SOUNDS so wrong. Whenever I get into one of those quagmires, I end up changing the sentence around to avoid the issue entirely.

    • Welcome to twitter! Here are a few food people you should consider following: ChefMark, FoodPhilosophy (both of Culinary Media Network) ChefJoAnna (L.A. personal chef) Gourmet (Food news & Resources not the magazine), cookbook (who posts entire recipes in 140 characters) ChazFrench (that’s me I post a lot of food stuff). dalecruse (posts about wine and cocktails mostly).

And follow “BreakNewsOn” That service gets news out faster than anything else anywhere on the net, or tv.

      Welcome to twitter.

    • David, you’re assertions are correct. Dick Cheney does not have feelings.

    • I have to admit, I’ve been dying to ask you about a recipe on your site, but only because you have it up twice (once in metric and once in imperial measurements), and there seems to be a mistake in one of them! Good thing I never asked!

    • Hi Rona: If it’s a question about one of my recipes, on my site, I’m happy to answer. It’s questions about recipes from other people’s books, as I frequently get, that I don’t feel at liberty to answer.

Also because the site is 10 years old, there are some recipes in the archives that I can’t go back and change or make corrections to, much to my dismay : (

But if there is a error in one, I do appreciate it being brought to my attention so I can make the appropriate change.

    • Hi David,

It’s someone else’s recipe, but I think the problem is not with the recipe, itself, but with the conversion of imperial to metric (which I don’t think was a part of the original recipe, but was later added on by either you or someone else).

      Tapenade

has the olive oil amount as 1/2 cup or 90mL, but 1/2 cup is definitely not 90mL (earlier in the recipe, 1/2 cup of figs is converted to 90g, and I think someone just thought 1/2 cup equals 90 of whatever measurement).

Most North Americans are probably going off the imperial measurements, so the error isn’t that important, but for those of us who prefer weights/metric, it’s a wee bit off.

It is a fabulous recipe, though, even with only 90mL of olive oil!

By the way, you once recommended Henri Le Roux SBCs on eGullet, and I had the pleasure of trying some in Tokyo last month…and I’m headed back for more at the end of this month! I’ve become addicted to these very delicious (albeit very expensive!) treats, and I blame you for that! Thankfully I don’t live in Tokyo, or I’d be very poor and very large.

      Regards,

      rona
