This coming Thursday, March 24th from 4 to 6pm, I’m having a get-together and book event at the Hotel Allegro in Chicago.

The hotel is located at 171 West Randolph Street and copies of The Sweet Life in Paris, Ready for Dessert, and The Perfect Scoop will be available. All proceeds from sales* will go to benefit the Greater Midwest Foodways Alliance.

Big thanks as well to pastry chef Kim Schwenke who will be preparing desserts for this event.

*Because of the nature of this event, the Alliance is unable to accept credit cards for books purchased. They can only accept cash and personal checks.

But if someone gets their hands on an iPad2, I’ll happily trade a book for it ; )

(Guests are welcome to bring previously purchased books for signing.)

Hi, David: Do you have any plans of visiting NYC on future book tours? Would love to say hello and have my Perfect Scoop book signed. Cheers, Ed

O no! I’m working two blocks away during that time. I guess I could say I was in the produce cooler for a very long time…

That’s our favorite hotel in Chicago! Enjoy.

If you had a chance for a meal, I highly recommend Sepia. It’s quite close to Hotel Allegro in the printing district.
    Have a wonderful trip.

    David-

SOOOOO happy you are coming to Chicago!!! It really is a world class food city and I dont think you will leave disapointed! Our chefs are doing some truly awesome things here in the Midwest. You have to try some of our best:

Frontera Grill or Topolobompo ( I know how much you love Mexican and how hard it is to get in Paris)
    Blackbird, The Publican
    Alinea
    Girl & The Goat

Are you doing any weekend events here in the city?

    • Fallon

Oh and Graham Elliott – his new concept Grahamwich is pretty awesome too!

Damn this full-time job. Ah well, I’ll make it next time.

Can’t wait! I have some really great butter I’d bring you, but I’m fairly sure you can’t carry it on on your way home. Darn.
