The odd-looking thing arrived in my mailbox recently, and I had no idea what it was.
So I spent some time spinning the wheel around and around, and around and around. And around and around.
Until I got dizzy, and it landed on this—
It's the annual Tsé & Tsé open warehouse sale!
If you don't know their modern dinnerware, the pieces are beautiful, clean and white, and provide a graceful, undulating backdrop for food. Prices are normally out-of-reach (at least to me), but during the next few weeks, they'll be selling their dinnerware, as well as glassware, serving dishes, cutlery, pots and pans, and lovely gratin dishes, for a fraction of the retail cost.
In the past, they'd sold both first-quality as well as seconds and the variations are so slight between them, you can save pretty big if you don't mind a minor glaze skip.
The sale takes place between now and December 24th, noon to 7pm.

the flyer is clever and elegant, really unique, I love this. It's nice to see there's still fancy compagnies somewhere that agree to take some risks with their letterpress designs :D. (Ok, it's a shortcut but here in france, fancy often means "a slight twist in traditionnal forms"...)
Awesome tip! With the exchange rate I wasn't looking forward to finishing my gift shopping in Paris but this looks fab -- and in one of my favorite neighborhoods, too. Hope they won't be sold out (of the good, affordable and packable stuff) by late next week.
Let's see, I want one each of the tableware, the night igloos, cube lights, cocottes with the ultramarine glazed interiors....I don't know how they made the tableware look elegant and playful all at the same time.
Susan: They usually have quite a bit in stock. But to preserve your sanity, I recommend not going when it's likely to be busy.
jenny: My favorite thing is their gratin dish. I love it! Their site has flash animation so warning: there's music—gratin dish (I love their saladier, too.)
The Fitzsu site has a good selection of photos of their dinnerware. And sell it in the US.

Uh yes, I could definitely live with the gratin dish and the saladier, but would go crazy trying to decide between the silver exterior one or the one with the little silver dots inside....
Oh, to live in France -- I had been warned by friends that did not like it (can you imagine?) - it was a dream come true to go to Paris - a dream I hadn't even ever really had! DO share what you purchase. Would you kindly consider a drawing for the unique invitation? :D Thanks too for the holiday mix recipe - I'll be making it, I must keep it simpler this year, but still like to give special, delicious, home made gifts!
