Wet ‘n Wild!

It doesn’t take much to turn me on around here.

For example, I know that very few of you will be as excited as I was to find this at Tang Frères

Corn Syrup

But Alisa and Ms. Glaze?…you know you want it too…

Hot Duo!

Wanna see two Parisian studs going head-to-head in a groovy Parisian loft?

(Click to continue reading, for Adults Only…)

Note: It’s a little longer than you might be able to handle.

Naughty!

Someone’s been very, very bad.

The winner of the KitchenAid mixer, ice cream attachment, and copy of The Perfect Scoop hasn’t come forward. Better claim it soon.

Or someone’s gonna get a spanking.

Busty!

If it’s only a winter drink, does that mean they shrink back to normal in the summer?

The Façade of the Bibliothèque Nationale in Paris

Bondage By The Book!

Mais oui!

Just extended—if you’ll excuse the pun; L’Enfer de la Bibliothèque.

Our national library in Paris is celebrating sex and eroticism, with a display of objets, including rare manuscripts and drawings dating from the XVI century. Let me tell you, the internet of 2008 has nothing on Paris in 1732. And let’s just hope, for Madame Pompadour’s sake, that Louis XV was a grower.

Uh, scratch that.
I forgot; we saw that too.

Orgy!

I’m a judge!
My mother would have been so happy. Instead of me being the big disappoi….(oh, never mind…)

But you can be a winner of a trip for two to Napa Valley’s Chocolate Festival, an orgy of chocolate.

Food bloggers can enter the Death by Chocolate Contest—but anyone can nominate for their favorites at the Culinate site.

Then I, along with an esteemed panel of judges, will get together, have a few drinks, maybe get a little crazy, and see who ends up on top.

Crack That Whip!

Except I can’t find my whip around here.
Must’ve sold it at my garage sale in San Francisco.

Crackers

Instead, I got cracking on Heidi’s Cracker Recipe, which Lucy spilled some seeds into.

So I did too.
And boy, was it good.

    You’re such a tease!! hahahah.

hmm… what’s so special about korean corn syrup vs regular corn syrup?

    • David

The Korean corn syrup was 1.5€ ($2.25)—as opposed to the American corn syrup, which costs 7.5€ ($11) per bottle.

    Now to me…that’s hot!

    • Leslie

Holy crap! $11/bottle!?! That would cure our addiction to the stuff right quick.

    • Alisa

Oh My God!!!!! Oh My God!!!!! Oh My God!!!!! Oh My God!!!!! Oh My God!!!!! Oh My God!!!!! Oh My God!!!!! Oh My God!!!!!

    • Babeth

those crackers are beautiful, can you send some to me? pleaaaaaaaassssssseeeeeee ;-)

    • Cenk

12 minutes of wine tasting and no making out at the end? I am disappointed.

    • krysalia

this corn syrup product is really fascinating, kind of symbol of the us food here, not in a positive way though :/ . Isn’t this the only sugar syrup that has a glycemic index higher than glucose ?

Hallelujah! This is the best Paris food news I’ve had since discovering that G.Detou sells creme of tartar and L’Epicerie du Monde has candied angelica.
Thank you, thank you, thank you: we’re having homemade guimauve this weekend!

    • David

    Cenk: You’re disappointed?

How do you think I felt??

    • Jeremy

Love the video, and the wine guy is really good, what about beer and chocolate?

Don’t they sell matzoh in chocolate and caramel?

    you’re hysterical!

    • Kevin

David, cut back on the oysters. Jeez.

    • adrian

is that used in a sexual nature?

    • Mary

What are those things on your Christmas tree? They look like cocktail weenies but surely they would be pretty rank by now…Anyway, nice to hear your voice.

Thank you David for the lovely treat!
The video made me purr…chocolate, wine, testosterone…these are a few of my favorite things.
Me thinks it is high time for a frolic or two in Paris.

    • David

Mary: I don’t know what was behind me. I was too busy looking at Olivier!

Babeth: You can make these crackers. They’re super-simple. : )

Krysalia: Corn syrup is used in certain American things, like pecan pie and marshmallows. Although it’s possible to substitute, it’s like using canola oil for cassoulet instead of duck fat since it’s ‘healthier’.

A lot of foods in America have high levels of corn syrup, but I use it judiciously since I don’t think it should be consumed in vast quantities.

Although now that I’ve found a cheap source of it, maybe that will change! ; )

Adrian: It’s not possible to have sex in nature in Paris. Ne touchez pas the grass…Guess you’ll have to stick with the Bois de Boulogne!

    • Judith inUmbria

It sounds to me like you have been pent up inside a bit too much lately. Finding corn syrup has sexy qualities must mean something. I wouldn’t know what.

    • Kami

Ah!! Two of the loveliest men in Paris. I took the Chateau O wine class last April – oh lala!! I’m surprised you didn’t get him to take his shirt off… I know you have the mojo….

    • Barbara

In regards to the frenchman and not liking to mix chocolate and wine, my husband is the same. He doesn’t like to eat his meat, veggies, feculants, etc. together in his mouth. For example, he eats all his meats, then eats his veggies, … He doesn’t like tastes in his mouth to mix and compete. By the way, my husband is french too! It must be a french thing.

    • Brian

Great clip with you and Olivier. I went to one of his O Chateau wine tastings last year, too. Learned a lot and had a great time–even if all we got with our wine was bread to cleanse the palate!

    • Lucy Vanel

Your crackers are way sexier than mine! Very nice!

    • Sharon C

Oooh, there’s a WONDERFUl sweet potato dessert recipe using that corn syrup. Just got a huge blast from the past moment looking at that. If you haven’t heard of it, and would like to try (you have to have access to the red-skinned Japanese style sweet potatoes, though), please let me know and I’ll dig up the recipe. It’s basically caramelized/candied sweet potatoes and it’s divine–very up your alley!!

    Dear David,
I can’t believe I won the most coveted prize of all! I didn’t even realize it… I kept on checking Chez Pim’s site, learned of the delay, checked again on the day of revelation. When the list finally came out, there were so many prizes to be doled out & I thought I did not see my name as a winner for the only prize I coveted. I checked my email several times to see if there may be a “You won!” email but sadly, there was none.
Have been quite busy & I only read your last 3 entries today. Please email me for my snail mail & what else I need to do. So happy, so thankful :-) My mixer is on its last breath. I was just thinking of getting me a new one as I was mixing my leche flan last night. What great news! Quite thankful, Guia (MGP)
