Win a Cuisinart ICE-100 Ice Cream Machine!

When I found out that Cuisinart had released a brand-new model of their ice cream machine, I asked if they would let me give two away on my site. And I was happy when they agreed!

I’ve been using my ICE-50 for a number of years, which is self-refrigerating, so I can make ice cream and sorbet whenever I want and not have to pre-freeze the canister. It’s the machine I relied heavily on when churning up with the recipes in The Perfect Scoop.

The next generation of this machine, the ICE-100 ice cream freezer will churn up 1 1/2 quarts of ice cream or sorbet with the use of an internal compressor. And now that summer is almost here, it’s the perfect time to add an ice cream freezer to your kitchen.

To enter, leave a comment with the name of your favorite flavor of ice cream, sorbet, or sherbet. Only one entry per person is allowed and please leave a valid e-mail address so you can be contacted if you win.

NOTE: The give-away is now closed. The winners were chosen at random, and are Katie S. and Blaine W, who have been contacted. Thanks to all who entered! – dl

The comments will be closed on Tuesday – June 19, 2012, at 6pm Paris time. Please read the rules below carefully before entering.

Nectarine Sorbet

Good luck – and happy churning to the winners!

-David

  • cookies and cream, maybe with peanut butter on top…

  • Homemade: strawberry sorbet. Storebought: hazelnut. But anything, anything, anything at Ici in Berkeley or Scream in Temescal.

  • I absolutely love Nutella-cheesecake swirl ice cream! It’s the best flavour I’ve ever made at home, and it’s delicious!

  • Homemade vanilla bean is my favorite!

  • Chocolate…mmmmmmm!!

  • This time of year, sweet, fragrant Blenheim Apricot Sorbet is sublime! The farmers markets are overflowing with stone fruit so anything goes.

  • I love homemade Vietnamese coffee ice cream! When it comes to fruitier flavors I go for homemade tangelo-mint sorbet.

  • Chocolate

  • Lemon gelato!

  • Green Tea – Matcha. Yum.

  • Being lactose intolerant, I thank you, David for the many lactose free recipes in the Perfect Scoop. The pear sorbet is my favorite for its cool, refreshing and subtle flavor. One of my dinner guests enjoyed a trio of pear, cherry (made with coconut milk) and chocolate sorbets I served for dessert so much, he bought an ice cream machine and your book so he could make them himself.

  • cardamom ice cream

  • Oh, so many favorites! But if I have to choose, then it has to be the fantastic lime ice cream I ate gallons of in Croatia. Heaven….and I haven’t quite been able to exactly re-produce it. So the new Cuisinart ice cream maker would enable me to do more “research”!

  • I love coffee ice cream.

  • Wow, what an awesome gift! Even if I don’t win, although sad, I really appreciate your efforts in giving two of us a chance to churn out delicious ice cream with this great machine. This contest is very exciting, indeed.

I own your cookbook, The Perfect Scoop, and love many of the recipes in it. However, I have a thing for caramel. So my (& my family’s) favorite ice cream recipe is your own Salted Butter Caramel Ice Cream. So delicious, rich, and complex in flavor and texture!

I never win anything. But maybe I’ll get lucky this time. My fingers are crossed… : )

    Cheers,
    Jennifer

    Thanks, Casey

  • Spumoni!

  • Coffee with toffee bits! Merci…

  • I have waaay too many favourite flavours but I guess my ultimate favourite would be macadamia nut!

  • Mango sorbet all the way. But it has to be very rich, preferably with some mango bits/pulp mixed in too.

  • For me, nothing beats homemade Philadelphia-style vanilla bean ice cream. It’s rich and creamy without being weighty on the palette, simple to make, and absolutely divine by itself or with any number of desserts!

  • For me, it’s fresh mint ice cream.

  • gelato, one scoop amaretto, one scoop raspberry

  • I have been coveting this machine! My favorite flavor is lemon custard.

  • rum raisin!!!! or vanilla

  • I absolutely crave raspberry sorbet, it is truly sinful.

  • Cardamom

  • Salted Caramel. Your recipe. So good!

  • Chocolate peanut butter!

  • My favourite is definitely Green Tea. I love it when they tone down the sugar, so you can truly appreciate the fragrance of the tea. The reduced sugar level is also much more refreshing on your palate so you can eat twice as much without feeling guilty. It tastes even better when you eat it on a cold and windy day!

  • Just about tasting the chocolate almond roca…no the meyer lemon sorbet…hmm so many choices!

  • It’s almost impossible for me to decide on a favorite ice cream flavor, as I have a sweet tooth, but one at the top of the list is Salted Caramel Ice Cream.

  • As of tonight, Creole cream cheese ice cream. Made my first batch today, from a recipe in Commander’s Kitchen Cookbook. A great complement to summer fruits.

  • Well, since I’m pregnant, some weird flavor combos are coming to mind… but I will just go with strawberry lemonade sorbet!

  • Depends on the day and mood, but raspberry sorbet always!

  • I’m all about the fruit ice cream: apricot, strawberry, peach, and especially italian melone. mmmmm.

  • Definitely raspberry sorbet :)

  • Strawberry, made with homemade strawberry jam added to the regular vanilla ice cream recipe.

  • Bubblegum

  • Pomegranate or strawberry.

  • My absolute favourite is home made mint choc chip ice cream!

  • Lychee too!

  • Chocolate gelato!

Our family has enjoyed many of your recipes over the years, both from The Perfect Scoop and your blog. Keep up the good work.

    Thank you!

  • Custard Apple!!!

  • My affinity is towards Blue Berry Sorbet.!

  • Vanilla buttermilk. Classic but tangy, it complements every fruit dessert imaginable, and i love the look of the vanilla bean flecks. Other faves are huckleberry (amazing colour and flavour), raspberry made with berries from my garden, and vanilla with chocolate almonds and cherries from your book. As my stepdaughter says, that one is “amazeballs”. (her other favourite is Nutella).

  • toss up: butter brickle or peppermint bon bon. what i really want to rediscover from my youth is ice milk. i swear it existed, i loved it, and no one else in my family remembers.

  • I would say my favourite is butterscotch pecan, but there are just so many good flavours its hard to choose!

  • Usually coffee ice cream, especially if it has Heath bar pieces or some type of toffee, but definitely coconut when I go to Hawaii!

  • Any kind of banana flavored ice cream is an ice cream I can get down with! Rocky Road is also up there!

  • Ispahan Sorbeto (also known as Valentino’s secret)…made with fresh raspberry puree, lychee puree, raspberry liquor, french rose water, sea salt and the best spring water you can find! Ciao~ David M / the Gelato-ologist.

  • Rum & Raisin Gelato with Belgian Chocolate Gelato

  • Chocolate cookies and cream; frozen homemade yogurt ….so complete.

  • Salted butter caramel!!!!

  • Chocolate Peanut Butter–with lots of peanut butter!

  • I’ve been using a Cuisinart freezer-bowl model for years–one of my first (and proudest) kitchen acquisitions! Too many flavors to pick a favorite–I currently have roasted walnut in the freezer, and am planning some ginger (lovely with any kind of fruit). Strawberry or blackberry sour cream are lovely, but probably the most reliably irresistable are chocolate sorbet and peanut butter!

  • What an amazingly delightful prize. I’ve been dreaming with such one for ages, cause I never had or used a machine of this kind. And as the Cuisinart ICE-100 Ice Cream Machine got an internal compressor, that’s perfect to churn out my preferred: the Mango & Cinnamon Ice Cream. Its delicious.

    Cheers,
    Joao (trl. John)
