    So early…I couldn’t resist.
I bought your Markets of Paris book!
I love the Bistro book in that series so it’s gotta be good. So many tempting suggestions here David.
Nice for a lazy vicarious Sunday morning…

    Melted cheese on sushi, seriously?

    • Lola

thanks for making me smile on this chilly, rainy sunday! Great link for the flea markets too.

Sadly, the Paris Attitude game is no more.

    C’est la vie!

One caveat on the hotels – the price is “per person” and they assume double occupancy. But it still looks like there may be some good values here!

    Thanks for the links!

    Great links. Thanks David.

I like the bio market on blvd. Raspail on Sundays.

Carol: Yes, I was leafing through that guide the other day and there’s some good information in there. And as you know, there’s always just one more market that needs to be visited in Paris!

Broderick: Oh, if you could see what I’ve seen…

Krooie: Drat! I thought for sure I’d win.

CF: Perhaps, but it’s still cheaper than staying with me. I demand a couple of nice dinners out, and the wine bill would easily exceed that!

I spent Sunday making Buttercrunch Toffee… which maybe I burned? But I’m still eating it up. I also made Spiced Pecans because I love them in salads almost as much as in ice cream… Yummmm. Looking forward to the classes at Central Market!!

    David!

I was at Richard Lenoir markets (wow they are awesome) yesterday, where were you?!
Yes I know you don’t know me, I’m an avid fan and just wanted to thank you personally, seeing as I had come all the way from Sydney, Australia.
Anyway, I asked the fleur de sel guys if they knew you because I remembered a post about some salted caramel hot chocolate you were selling.
They did! But then that was the limit of my French… I wanted to say call him now and tell him to come down here so I can get an autograph :)

So, love your work and the city you live in.

    • David

Nadine: I was there! Since it was drizzly, I didn’t linger. But I did stop by and say hi to Régis…and thank him for that salted butter & caramel cake he gave me last week! I did bump into 2 other readers there (ok, not really ‘bump into’, although that market’s so crowded on Sunday that it feels like it.)

Hope you got some fleur de sel or a hot chocolate kit—we’re almost out for the season!

The Paris35 link just made my day.

Love the news in “easy French”. Ok, I don’t know how easy I think it is — I didn’t get much about what they talked about, but I believe I snapped up a word here and there. However, my school French might bloom a little bighter if I just listen. I’m going to give it a try. Thanks a lot.

Luisa: You, my dear, get the Aerobed!

Christina: You need to click on ‘read the script’ (lire le script). The idea is to read along in French as they speak. Of course, being France, they make it more complex and they leave out portions of the audiocast just to mess with our heads.
    C’est comme ça

Oh I love the “how French are you” link – I have seen pretty much all those, but my favourite remains Le Shrug. I’m sure I do a pretty good rendition… ;-)

I’ve been to Jim Haynes and it was an experience I will never forget. I was nervous to go, but it was a crazy, fun time. Highly recommend it and we will be going again and again every time we visit Paris.

Thanks for the list, hoping to get back this summer.

    • Cenk

Thank you David. These will help me a lot! I am especially interested in the flea markets. Hope to make it to Paris this summer… Can’t wait!

David! The paris35 link is great :) I’ll be using this for honeymoon planning, woo!

    • Mimi

I bought Markets of Paris, too, and then left it in Wisconsin when I packed. I can recommend it, though – it is excellent,
