The fashionable team over at Design*Sponge came by to make a video with me here in Paris…

red wine raspberry sorbet1

I hit the market with Anne Ditmeyer of Prêt à Voyager, who is part of the Design*Sponge creative team, to do a little shopping. You can watch the video here.

(Plus we got a little lesson of how far a seller will go not to sell something to you.)

Over at Design*Sponge, you’ll find my recipe for Red Wine-Raspberry Sorbet from Ready for Dessert, plus an interview. And they’re also giving away copies of Ready for Dessert!

After Anne and I went to the market, we headed back to my kitchen to get churning.

Once we finished up the batch of fruity sorbet, we found a lovely spot in Paris to relax and enjoy the fruits (or berries?) of our labor.

For my interview, red wine-raspberry sorbet recipe, and a chance to win a copy of Ready for Dessert, head over to Design*Sponge.

What a lovely day in the sun! You are a naturally giving person, and it comes across in everything you do. Cheers.

David …. I love seeing this video. I must make that sorbet very soon, thank you!

Hi David, I am a big fan of your recipes and Design*Sponge. I’ve made a number of your desserts and they always turn out spot on. This Red Wine Raspberry sorbet looks like another home run! Thanks.

You are so right, I’ve never seen a cookbook titled “Baking for One”.
David, you are still as handsome as ever, although when I last saw (worked) with you in SF, you had blonde spiky hair!
Am so looking forward to seeing you in Manhattan next week.
And I’m sure the Union Square Greenmarket is on your to-do list, but a Target opened in East Harlem this past weekend !

David I love when you make videos (or, just “star” in them!)! I love your comment about bakers! It definitely applies to you as well, it’s apparent in this blog in so many ways. Loved it and everything looks so good!

I came to your site today to look for a recipe for a fig tart and now I am going out to get the raspberries! What’s a girl to do. Fabulous video, you look and sound great.

The video and dessert look marvelous.

If a “colonel” is lemon sorbet and vodka, what would one mix with this for a digestif?

    Thanks!

Nice interview. I love reading this blog, but I actually had no idea what your voice sounded like before just now! Looks like a delicious sorbet and a beautiful day.

Perfect! Have been following your wonderful blog for quite some time. LOVED the video. Please show more! It was good hearing your voice and seeing you do what you love best!

I almost cried when I heard “chouquette”. I haven’t had those in 20 years. Until I get back to France, I’ll live vicariously through your blogs. Merci beaucoup.

Oooh, I had a blackberry cabernets sorbet once that was divine, and your raspberry red wine flavour sounds one step up. Now I just have to get the silly ice cream maker…

    • Diane@2stews

After falling in love with your Cherries in Red Wine Syrup (and you, of course!) I didn’t think you could top that. This one may be a real contender. And paired with choquette in a Parisian park on a fine summer day, well, I am just speechless. Applause to you and Design Sponge!

    Very nice interview!

I just made a batch of vanilla ice cream from The Perfect Scoop, and am now plotting to acquire a pile of raspberries to make this sorbet and turn it into those lovely, sparkling drinks! And I feel almost obliged to make chouquettes to accompany them! A great way to celebrate the beginning of August and try to forget that two-thirds of summer is behind us already *sob*.

Hi David! I love your posts! You should include more videos, this one was amazing!. Greetings from Argentina.

    David,

I made the Raspberry Red WIne sorbet today and it was THE BEST!!! OMG!!! If I had been home alone, the entire batch would have been eaten! I absolutely love your cookbooks. Keep ’em comin’!

    Hi David

This is wonderful, thank you. I check in with your blog every morning after breakfast, it’s a part of my daily ritual so it was lovely to see and hear you this time. The young lady interviewing you was very good and the garden setting with the birds twittering (the original version of the word, not the modern) in the back ground was lovely. I’m in Southern Australia where it is currently quite cold so the setting was even more appreciated because it bought a little sunshine and warmth into my day. I’m looking forward to trying the recipe and a similar setting when our summer arrives down under.

    Merci
    Helen
