This Friday, June 24th, I’ll be hosted by Colette, the coolest store in Paris, as part of their Cooklette series. It was one of the first places in Paris that really wowed me when I first walked into it years ago, and I’m excited to be leading an Ice Cream Sundae Party in their Water Bar restaurant.

After the event, from 6:15pm to 7pm, there will be a book signing of the new UK edition of The Perfect Scoop, as well as my other books.

It’ll be a lip-smacking event—so stop by!

Felicitations on the Cooklette Gig, a big deal!
Wish I could be there but I’ve passed it on to my sister in Paris.

Paulina: The class (which participants must sign up for, by contacting the store) is from 5 to 6:15, and once we’re finished, I’ll be in the store on the main floor singing books. I’m hoping to begin at 6:15 and go to 7pm.

    Hi David~

Quel dommage I missed your book event !!!!!!! my manager even let me get off work a bit earlier so that I could go to your event, I’ve walked from #29 ~ #213 then realised it’s NOT rue du Faubourg St Honoré in the 8e….. but in the 1er..!!!! @_@ When I rushed to Collette it’s already 7:30pm… they told me the book event was finished.. and the shop’s closed…. :><:

A friend and I made your lemon ice cream the other day. We used Meyer lemons (we upped the quantity of juice and zest a little bit, to make up for the subtleness of the meyers).

we then made some kick-ass ginger snaps and used them to create ice cream sandwiches.

They were so delicious! Thank you for the recipe!!!

My family and I picked 7 pounds of sour and sweet cherries north of Los Angeles in the Leona Valley today. I just finished pitting 1 lb. for your sour cherry frozen yogurt. Will make them into popsicles – can’t wait! Love all your recipes.

I was going to comment on one of your post “Les Pates Viviants”, but don’t know why couldn’t put comment on…

I’d like to recommend you another good Asian restautant called “Pho Tai”:

C’mon David, I assume you’re not still wowed by Colette? Your reference to it being the ‘coolest store’ in Paris is a bit hollow if not close to being a robotic transcription of their own marketing blurb from when they opened. The ‘water bar’ is now embarrassing surely….maybe it was once cool for a few weeks in the 90s but in 2011?! Last time I was in Colette it was so dated and full of vacuous nonsense that I couldn’t believe the place had been recommended by anyone. You deserve better, and we deserve better knowing what you really think! The blog is great – don’t let your standards fall ‘cos you are being feted by Colette people hoping to use your audience to shift some of their silly products.

Hi Jeff: They actually did an amazing job; from the first contact, to initial meetings to plan the event, to the actual cooking class, they were extremely professional and even though I brought a bunch of my own equipment (because often people ‘say’ they are going to have it, but when you arrive, they don’t) – they actually did, which was really rare.

Judging by the hoards of people in the store, I don’t know if they really need me to promote them – seems like they are doing fine with or without me – but I was happy to be invited to do an event there. However I would like to turn the entire Water Bar into an ice shop, on a permanent basis : )

Hi… I don’t know if you saw that news : you can find in Colette, 3 Hummel sneakers, tribute to Haribo with sole that smells le “bonbon”

    Hi David-
I was in Paris for the first time in 24 years, and was really hoping to make it to your book signing. We were staying in the Marais, and I had it on my list to get over to Colette, but being from the LA area, I was thrown off by my lingering jet lag and my inability to establish a rhythm with the long days of summer in Paris and I lost track of time. 8:00 p.m. always felt like 4:00 p.m.! I missed so many things for that reason. Anyway, I really enjoy your blog. Your life is so interesting! I recently heard Alice Waters speak at Scripps College (my alma mater), introduced by Seen Lippert. I graduated around the same time as Seen, and it just seems like you all must have had a blast working together at Chez Panisse way back when. So it would have been really nice to meet you at the book signing, but hopefully you will still be there in another 24 years when I return to Paris…LOL! You will be on your 100th book by then!
